Seddon DD 1958
Although Seddon had been making lorries from the late 1930's they did not enter the maximum weight eight-wheeler market until 1958 with their Seddon DD (double drive) model. This was engineered for the anticipated 28 ton gross weight but subsequent legislation specified ungainly wheelbase spread so they ran at 24 ton gross with Gardner's mighty 6LX giving a useful reserve of power for its day.
