Leyland Octopus Smiths of Madison 1956
Smiths of Madiston's large fleet included many eight-wheelers before the arctic revolution of the late sixties, but even though this example has a fine illuminated headboard proclaiming their slogan "Smith for Service" it is doubtful whether a heater was fitted for the comfort of the driver as he battles his way North on the old A6 trunk road.
