Leyland Octopus 2201 1951 BRS
A vehicle which perhaps more than any other typified the first decade of B.R.S. was the Leyland Octopus 2201 eight-wheeler. This example was in service at Scunthorpe for many years on steel haulage. Power came from Leyland's 0.600 9.8 litre diesel engine mated to a five speed constant mesh gearbox and double drive rear bogie.
