Atkinson eight-wheeler chassis were introduced in the late thirties and the specification was virtually unchanged until 1952. A Gardner engine, or sometimes an A.E.C., David Brown gearbox and Kirkstall axles were assembled into a conventional robust chassis to produce a British classic.
